Myriophyllum matogrossense is originally from Mato Grosso in the Rio Amazonas, Brazil. It is a starter plant with feather-like, reddish stems (25-60 cm long) and finely divided bright green leaves (5-6 cm wide). In good light conditions the leaves spread out in a fan shape. It is an easy plant suitable for the background. It needs frequent trims to maintain its bushy form.
