Cladophora aegagropila

This aquarium plant is called “moss ball”, however it is actually a ball of green Algae. Cladophora aegagropila, also known as “Marimo”, is a slowly growing algae. It occurs in clean lakes where it forms flat cushions as well as hollow balls rolling about the ground, formed by waves in the shore zone.
